The Manchester Cadet Tournament was started by us and our sister club Salle Kiss in order to allow Under-17 fencers to gain ranking points without the necessity of fencing in senior competitions.

Initially it was for six weapons (foil, épée and sabre for both boys and girls) but it is now part of the European Cadet circuit. The large number of foreign fencers, which attracts top level cadets from the UK means that the tournament has had to be restricted to foil.

We are still part of the organisation that runs the tournament, providing people to lay out the hall before the tournament and remove the equipment afterwards as well as running the tournament on the day.
