Manchester Open

The second Manchester Open will take place on the 10th and 11th of July 2010

Venue

West Hill School, Thompson Cross, Stalybridge, SK15 1LX

Entry Fee

£14 for one weapon £22 for two weapons.

You will be able to enter online or by sending in an entry form with a cheque  made payable to Manchester Fencing Club to Linda Kent, 205 Abbeyhills Rd., Oldham OL4 1RF . You need JavaScript enabled to view it  or use the online entry which will guarantee your place if the entry limits are not exceeded.

Numbers will be strictly limited due to the size of the venue and the need for not keeping fencers hanging around, and entries with fees will be accepted on a first come first served basis. Entries will not be accepted until the fee is paid.

Format

Two rounds of poules followed by direct elimination.

British Fencing Membership

Fencers must have membership of one of the home country associations – it will be possible to join on the day if necessary. Membership cards will be checked.

Equipment/Safety

All equipment and fencers must comply with the current BFA standards. Fencers not complying will not be allowed to fence and entry fees will not be refunded. Fencers must have been 13 on the 1st January 2010 to enter.

Catering

There will be a full café run by members of Manchester Fencing Club. Bacon butties, hot & cold drinks, sandwiches, home bakes, fruit etc will be available.

Transport and Parking

There is plenty of off road parking on the school grounds which is monitored by CCTV. Stalybridge station (on main Manchester to Leeds line) is about 300 meters from the venue.
